Knowing that the colors of fall were in full effect, I eagerly walked the trails on the bluff overlooking the Mackinaw River. I was glad when I came upon the giant oak that is a favorite of the preserve's visitors, and found it with its magnificent burnt leaves stretched over the river below. It shared its beautiful in the preserve, like a wise sage shares his wonderful knowledge, with brilliant joy in color and texture of an older body.
