Dairy Cows with Faded Barn
Day 8 of my 2012 bike trip took me past a nostalgic dairy farm in Iowa. I had just ventured out of the town of Colesburg and the road crossed in front of this fading dairy barn. Well, naturally I had to stop and take in this fine scene. I loved how this lone cow observed me as I straddled my bike so that I could observe her. And her friends far off seemed to pay little attention to me. I also like the overall feel of this place; the trampled ground versus the green grass and the faded paint of the big barn set against the fresh paint of the smaller barn in the background.
