Hoh Elk

When I initially headed into Hoh National Rainforest on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, I presumed that I would be mainly fascinated by the old covered trees. After photographing a VW near a tall Sitka Spruce, I continued on into the Park. After venturing a bit, there was a herd of elk that was catching the interest of the park's visitors. I watched the elk slowly plow through the water and I knew that I had to create a photograph of the elk. I set my gear up and photographed this particular one wading through the clearing with his rippled reflection next to him. The trees could wait.
