Goldenrod Gate
Riding the bicycle around central Illinois usually means riding through a lot of open flat lands. However, riding along the rivers offer an opportunity to find some elevation change, trees, and some closure of the open lands. It was on one such lovely blue sky riding day near the Mackinaw River that I found this vibrant goldenrod growing near a metal gate. I naturally had to hop off the bike and enjoy this change of scenery.
