There comes that time in autumn when you realize that the colorful leaves up high have passed their peak and their splendid seasonal dance is over. The time when the tree and leaves stop holding on to each other and that it is time to venture on their different paths; for the tree to stand and prepare for the coming winter and for the leaves to cover the ground and replenish the soil. It is that time of letting go that this piece shows to me. I love how although the leaves no longer decorate the tree, the ground is now covered in their splendid colors.
