"Meadow"

Often times a work will sit in my list of possibilities before I decide if and what will be done with it. That work this time comes from my little excursion to Wichita last May and was captured less than one hundred yards of the “Drift” piece. (Click here for entry on “Drift”).

Before I had ventured to Wichita heavy rains and flooding had covered numerous acres of the area. This had mainly dried up as I was headed back to Illinois but there were a few indications of standing water. Remnants of this high water are evident in “Meadow” on the bottom two barbed wires as grass has been drying since its voyage. The fence post has also gathered twigs, perhaps a gift from the gentle tree above descending with its life from the water and the returning sun.
