Wintry Dusk

I'm not sure exactly why but it seems that the clouds and light are more whimsical in winter than in other seasons. Perhaps this has to do with the drier air, the colder temps, or the angle of the southern sun. Whatever its reason, I love it. This photograph was taken towards dusk after a snowstorm was finishing its fresh coating of snow. A pleasant end for a day filled walking in the snowy woods. Plenty of low light on the horizon to illuminate the clouds above. Magical! Hope you like it.

I would love to hear what you think about Wintry Dusk or any of my works. Feel free to comment or ask a question.

  1. Pink flirts with this sky but can't melt the icy chill! My Southern skin prickles just by looking at this photo, so you did a great job capturing a Midwest winter!

Thanks for sharing about your trip.
