River Leaf

In the lowland area of the preserve, there is a little trail that opens to the bank of the Mackinaw. I often like to go down there and observe the water just flowing by, slow and peaceful. On this day, the water was very low and calm and the leaves had built up in the slowness. This particular leaf stood out against all the others around it. Obviously different in its species, shape, and size than those around it. However, it also differed in that it contained a greater quantity of green life in its center. Still clinging on.

River Leaf is the 78th creation in Local Sanctuary.
